On a date, only the woman knows this answer.
Discussion
From the series 'Coupling'.
The character played by Sarah Alexander says this to her friends, when she first starts dating Jack Davenport's character.
I paraphase:
'On a date ,what does the woman know the answer to that the man doesn't?'
'That only she knows if they are going to end the night with sex or not'
Not sure why, but this line from this clever, but getting on now, TV series hit me this morning.
Unless the guy is some sort of evil abuser, it is so blooming true.
I'm seeing my girlfriend of 6 months tonight. We have a healthy and varied sex life. Not bad for 2 middle aged people.
Yet I have no idea whether we'll do the deed tonight or just cuddle and go to bed, yet she will know for sure. Is it because men will always be up for the challenge even if they are not really in the mood, whilst for women, if they are not feeling it, they will just say so.
Just interested if others feel the same.
As I'm getting on, it has meant I need help from the blue pill, thankfully only from time to time, but I have lost count of the number of times I have taken it but have read the mood wrong and end up going to bed with head aches, back aches and feeling stuffy and flushed, all for no benefit

Many years ago, I was in the middle of writing a novel and just building the characters, I asked my then wife who was considerably smarter than me - 'Whats the male equivalent of nymphomaniac'.Yet I have no idea whether we'll do the deed tonight or just cuddle and go to bed, yet she will know for sure. Is it because men will always be up for the challenge even if they are not really in the mood, whilst for women, if they are not feeling it, they will just say so.
Without a seconds hesitation she said - 'Normal'.

Wait until she's up for it, then say 'no'. That'll teach her.Sheepshanks said:

Well it's not really. There must have been millions of occasions when , during the course of a date, the man has thought "god, some of the things she's saying, I really regret this and I don't want to get involved with this person at all. Then, at the end of the date, she's said "do you wanna come back to my place" and he's had to fob her off with a "sorry, no can do, early start tomorrow." 'That only she knows if they are going to end the night with sex or not'

She thought she would be getting sex, but he knew she wouldn't be. Happened to me, many years ago, although I admit only once. But as with most blokes, mainly I wanted sex, but didn't get it.

You know you are on to a winner when you go back to her place and she seductively says "Do you want to come in for a coffee"?
You are either going to get a great sh*g or a great coffee
Win win.
All the better if you get both.
Not necessarily, I'm quite particular about my beans. You are either going to get a great sh*g or a great coffee

Win win.
All the better if you get both.
So the inference is that every male is a panting dog led around by the cock?
If someone clicks their fingers at me expecting to be serviced they're going to be told to work rather harder or to bugger off. I've turned down rather more action than I've said yes to and have nearly been duffed up a few times because of it.
