Just replaced my battery today, Its still working ok, just, but a little slow on start up during the cold weather we had, found out it was the original that came with the car, I have an 07 335i so its 12 years old and not completely dead, not a bad life I thought. There was a thread on here a while ago regarding battery life, unfortunately i'm not sure how to find old topics on here

Maybe, but not exactly bad!

My 06 plate E91 had a new battery in January so nearly 13 years - that seems pretty good to me!

The life of a battery is supposed to be 6-7 years is it?

No, BMW ones anyway seem to last longer than that!

My E86 battery was 10 years old when it was replaced.

Mrs Tidy's December 06 Mini Cooper is still on it's original battery.

Unless it's got that stop/start abomination - my 123d battery didn't manage 5 years! banghead Then you need a fancy AGM battery that has to be coded in. BMW wanted £300 to fit a new one, but I found a BMW Indy who did it for just over £250.

Wow I paid 70 quid for my lucus lol. I suppose being in the boot keeps a lot of the bad cold out as it sits in a moderately more insulated area than just in the corner under the bonnet

Battery life depends on use, weather, etc. 12 years is not really bad.
