Stylish Auto for under £2k !
Discussion
I only need a nice comfortable cruiser for about 3k miles year. Not too worried about tax but I must admit I've been persuaded to go for petrol only. Not bothered whether its a saloon, hatchback, coupe or 2 seater
is there a stylish one available for under £2k ?
Yes..I know its a bit vain and I really think the ford focus is a great car for example but I wanted something that looks a bit more classy.
I may be asking the impossible but from my history of cars ( I have had a lot ) it all about history and condition. I for example have a 81,000 mile focus estate ddci a bit battered but has passed its last 2 years MOT without a single problem.
Suggestions ?
cheers

thanks but I looked up users comments on PH and a lot said similar to below
"They may have been an 80 grand car new but they still rust like an old Fiat and guzzle fuel like crazy. More worrying, some simple faults can be devastatingly expensive, eg air suspension, gearbox and electrical faults, it's a lottery or maybe Russian roulette..."

I know what you mean about the Mk1. I really like the styling, my wife hates it. Trouble is I have bad memories. My daughter bought one with 105k miles last year, ended up spending another £500 on some welding and an exhaust, then eventually sold it to my sister-in-law.. cam belt went 5k miles later ooops !
is the 180 just as good as the 225... what about the roadster
cheers

Thanks... but obvious question aren't the Alfas unreliable and expensive to fix if things go wrong or is that just a rumour
cheers
I had a 147 which is basically the same car as the gt and it never let me down. However they are partial to a front upper suspension arm, but parts on the whole are very reasonably priced and the car itself easy to work on. They get under your skin.cheers
