Hi there, i haven't posted on PH for a long time now, but i haven't had an Aston since 2013, so had nothing to share with you guys.

I just wanted to share my first impressions of the power pack equipped V12Vs manual i have just collected.

Hahahahahaha, all i can say is.... "How can this car be road legal?"

Only bought the car yesterday and i can honestly say it's the loudest, most brutal sumbh i've ever had the pleasure of trying to tame!!

Is there anyone else here with a manual v12s with power kit? Have you had any issues from the boys in blue? My only small concern is that the sound is a little in your face and a non petrol head may be a little offended by it smile

Good work fella!

Get one of these and you’ll keep your neighbours happy, at least...

I also have a 2018 V12VS manual coupe with the power kit. Its the loudest car I've ever had smile

Have you pulled fuse 15 yet to keep the exhaust valves open all the time?

I'm loving it! Done about 1,500 miles since I picked it up in November, including a couple of road trips up to the Lakes, all epic. Fuse 15 is in the rear fuse box on the RHS of the boot. Plenty of diagrams online to show you which one.

Really pleased with mine, power pack makes a huge difference in mid-range throttle response. Having Clive's exhaust flap remote is a must in my opinion.

I had the Performance Pack installed on mine too last year. The sound is just fantastic, I have fuse 15 permanently out and love the sound.
I wouldn't say I feel the extra power but you certainly feel the engine breathes better and consequently there's definitely an improvement in mid-range punch as mentioned above.
Performance Pack is a must for anyone intending on keeping the car.
Not sure if it is still available, probably won't be available for long now that the previous gen Vantage's production has sadly come to an end.

If you're planning on keeping the car, wouldn't the Bamford Rose upgrade be equally as good for much less outlay? New headers, primary de-cat. re-map etc. There used to be a lot of comments on the BR thread before that could rudely removed (and with a huge amount of valuable free advice taken down with it).

yes mate, it’s got the full titanium exhaust and the carbon rear diffuser. They all came as a part of the power pack smile

The V12 Vantage has a different management system to the V12 Vantage S so would BR be able to such re-map.

The best Aston v12 I have heard (eh and luck enough to have test driven) was a vanquish volante Reg plate w700lls (the dealer hadn’t had a chance to get it on the ramp to check the make but we were sure it wasn’t quick silver). My god when the valves opened it sounded like an old f1 car. It was out of this world above 5000rpm

Out of curiosity...

The Power Kit for the V12VS brings output to 595bhp, I believe. This is the same as the GT12 (which I think also had a different final drive ratio so should accelerate faster at the expense of outright speed?) and unicorn-esque V600.

But the Vanquish S also had the 595bhp output as standard? Therefore if it uses the same induction/exhaust system as the V12VS (my assumption), does it make the same sound?

I’m running a V8VS with the AM secondary de-cats and it’s pretty loud (start up from cold and above 3,500rpm). I find it glorious and wonderfully hard-edged. So how much louder is the V12VS + PK? I remember parking next to a GT12 at a show a couple of years ago and it was beautiful and loud... but a direct comparison would be good to know.

If it's any help, this is a V12VS with a secondary de-cat (courtesy of Bamford Rose). Right-foot was set to 'medium' due to slightly greasy roads.

I am pretty sure the GT12 came with a titanium exhaust. Heard one at Le Mans a few years back and the sound was immense. I thought our V12 AMR Roadster sounded fantastic but with the titanium exhaust added (Jonby!) it is at another level.

I was at N24 last year and when he started the car up at the hotel at 5am in the morning and the whole hotel heard it (not sure they would have smiled like me) and then when he went up the hill out of he village a couple of miles away you heard him all over again biglaugh
