Got a bit of an strange issue with my Samsung Smart TV. I have my AV receiver connected through the HDMI Arc and the PS4 running into the Av receiver HDMI in. Lately when i watch YouTube or Netflix through the TV's app's when i exit them it turns on the AV receiver and then that in turn switches on the PS4. Getting a bit annoying now! What can i do to fix this?

There will be a setting in the TV called CEC. HDMI-CEC or samsung call it Anynet+ for some strange reason.

This is like the old Voltage Pin on SCART leads that allowed other devices to know something had turned on so it needed to as well.

Turn that off and you should loose control / triggering of other devices.

I had it once where Sky did an up-date to thier boxes, which meant they had to come on, CEC triggered and all the TV's came on in the apartment. Really freaked the owner out when he returned from holiday!

Thanks had a play with it last night and switching off the Anynet + seems to have done the trick.

I have a similar problem however I’m using Arc to power a Kef v700 soundbar

This works great, powers the bar up when you turn the tv / sky on and uses the volume control on the sky remote

Problem is it keeps turning the bloody tv back on! The only solution is to unplug the arc hdmi each night which is a pita

Any ideas?

Again, try the CEC settings in the Soundbar, see if you can stop the feedback loop you seem to have going on.

Sorry, should have mentioned I have tried this however this disables the sound coming from the soundbar and reverts it back to the tv speaker output

I have had to stop our Samsung from auto updating because off the st that it forces upon you like tv+ or what ever it is. Ended up in the service menus to stop it from appearing.

Heh. Probably related/similar issue with my NowTV box and Sony TV.
Whenever I'd start watching a programme in TV's Netflix app it'd start the NowTV box and switch input. Browsing Netflix was fine, but as it started loading the programme it'd switch. Fecking annoying. Had to disconnect the NowTV box at the time.
Just stopped happening a few weeks later.
