T5 / Rover Box change over

Trying to find out whether my '94 Chim has a T5 or Rover box? It was first registered in April '94.

If there is no exact change over date, what the easiest way to find out? Bearing in mind I know very little about mechanics!!

As far as I know reverse gear is in a different place on the boxes. The Rover box is forward and to the left of first gear and the T5 is back opposite 5th gear.

Hiya,

My Chim has the older Rover box with reverse to the left of 1st gear. Whats the significance? My box works fine however it feels a little agricultural at times.

The T5 box is quite a bit stronger and shifts quite a bit quicker however mine has the rover box and seems to cope with the abuse i give it just fine
