Mine has a couple of rattles after 2k miles, however you can't hear them at 6krpm with the roof down so I'm not that bothered
Honestly though it's a little disspointing, but not suprising really as there is a whole lot of plastic in the cabin and we all know Porsche have been doing their utmost to lower production cost and ramp up profit per car. My 996 C4S rattled more than the 987 though, so that cheers me up.
More worrying though is the state of the 19" wheels now, finish is extremly poor on them and a couple have developed discoloured bits that are going to need to be sorted by the dealer...once a couple more air vents fall apart and it's worth the trip down to the dealer I'll get it sorted out.

If your car rattles - take it to the dealer and ask them to fix it.

All cars rattle to some extent. Some rattles cannot be fixed (seat belts etc) - others just require some effort with the lubricant they give you. Anything rattling inside the trim is a fault your dealer should correct IMO.

Take it to the dealer. I had similar rattles on my 986 S when it was new and they replaced the inner hood lining, which was too tight. It has been, generally, rattle free since.

I've got a tiny rattle in the glove box, not too bad though. My main complaint is wind noise with the hood up - mine is worse than the 986 i had before, how is yours?

Wind noise depends on how strong the wind is blowing and it's direction....I do the same journey every day and at 70mph there is tonnes of variance in the amount of wind noise, from very little (tyre roar equal noise) to an incredibly annoying loud wind roar from what sounds like the window/roof junction in strong crosswinds.
Just wish the damn country would warm up so I could just leave the roof down!

The door tops on my 987 2.7 rattle with the hood and windows fully up. However, if I open the window a tiny crack, the rattle stops. Not sure if it rattles with the hood down - too noisy to tell!

I'll get the OPC to look at it when I get the time. But it's the first rattle in a new car that I've had that I almost don't worry about - the driving is just so good you soon don't notice it!

Cheers

My 987 rattles and it's at the top of the door when there is a bassy track the car has been to the dealers a few times then it rattled all the the time and it is about to get a new door panel as the exisiting panel doesn't fit to the car properly. They have used sound deadening materials to fix the rattles as there are some cables in that area that can move around and that is what causes it.

In my mind the car at the price they are it should not rattle. I do appreciate that the roof mechanism might do as that is quite a piece of mechanical engineering but trim etc... no that should all be quiet.

We have a Vauxhall Astra and that doesn't rattle I therefore would not and do not accept that a Porsche should. Therefore there is no excuse and I will keep taking the car to the dealer until it doesn't rattle.

No squeaks or rattles on my 987 2.7, other than the wind deflector. I've been told to take it out and resite it, but not had chance to do so yet.
