Dacia Sandero Brakes
Discussion
Hello, has anyone attempted to change the brakes on a 54 plate Dacia Sandero? My MOT is coming up in a few months and I'd like to get things right before getting it through the MOT. My work has a corporate account with CES and Euro Car Parts and I know someone who changes the brakes on his car.
I know modern cars can be hard to DIY repair but the Dacia's seem to be much simpler like cars from the late 90's.
Many thanks
Chris

Get a Haynes manual. I expect that will show you what is involved. Are you planning to do all the mechanical maintenance yourself from now on? There are various other items that will need servicing based on age and mileage so make sure you stay on top of those. If that engine has a cam belt, that is particularly important to replace when due.
Sadly, I have asked Haynes, and there is no manual available for this machine. Some sources seem to suggest that if you get the Clio 2006 manual, and an older Megane manual (1.5 diesel is out of the Megane) this shows you the info - but for someone like me who doesn't take cars apart every day, I would be unsure if that would work or not.
To be honest I am just keeping in mind that brake pads and discs need changing, previously my dad took my car away to do any repair/MOT work (we joke that he is the personal mechanic!), however I am now old enough and daft enough to do it myself, so I need to learn. I know most new cars are hard as hell even if you have a £5k computer to plug them into, but I've heard my Dacia uses older Renault Clio design so should be much easier.
Weirdly, despite being all over the world in many guises, and being aimed at "do it yourself value" people, there is almost no youtube or internet help of any kind for this car!
Perhaps I should go to college and study.
