Bluebird: What next for Donald Campbell's record-breaker?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-46386257

When Donald Campbell's rebuilt Bluebird K7 made a return to water more than 50 years after the crash that claimed the record-breaker's life, it was hailed a triumph of engineering ingenuity. But its next outing has been abruptly called off amid tensions about what its future should hold - and even disagreement about who owns the craft....continues

How sad it's degenerated to this. I thought the recent run of Bluebird was just awesome. Definitely should be regularly run.

I find the whole thing horribly morbid, building a replica would have felt different but using parts of the wreckage feels wrong in my mind.

Personally, I don't find it morbid. Owen did the same with Babs and although some were reticent, seeing it at Goodwood was pretty spectacular!

There's a lengthy Bluebird discussion here that includes some less than complimentary comments about the personalities involved. The whole project (like the Vulcan) seems to have gone belly up:

Anyone aware or knowledgeable about the status of Bluebird at the moment? It would be fab if the lockdown ended mid-year, and Bluebird did some more runs.
