Advice needed, gearbox Hyundai Santa Fe
Discussion
2011 Hyundai Santa Fe
My clutch slave cylinder failed in September on holiday in France, The slave cylinder, clutch and dual mass flywheel were renewed.(Hyundai main dealer)
It’s been about 4 months and 5000 miles since the repair. The car drove perfectly for about 3 months and then became progressively more difficult to change gear. I then noticed a patch of oil when the car was parked.
On inspection the oil was coming from the n/s driveshaft oil seal. I then booked the car in with my local Hyundai dealer.
They confirmed the oil leak and reported the n/s driveshaft was loose in the gearbox.
On removal of the driveshaft,no retaining clip was present on the end of the driveshaft and gearbox oil level was reported a lower than driveshaft level.
The dealer have replaced the gearbox oil seal, spring clip and gearbox oil. But on test drive report the same difficulty changing gears.
They suspect internal gearbox damage has occurred, they now want £540 to remove the gearbox and inspect the internals.
Could anyone give me any advice on how to peruse this or any gearbox specialist here who could shed some light as to what damage could of been caused.
Thank you in advance......

It sounds to me like your Hyundai main dealer has stuffed up your car in so much as they didn't do the original job correctly.
Whether or not this has contributed to the new issue I have no idea.
Whether the dealer is in France or the UK should make absolutely no difference at all.
You need to get into the Hyundai UK with all claws & teeth out until they sort it out.
