This year I will have had my Cerbera 10 years, I can hardly believe I’ve had it that long, it only feels like yesterday that I collected it from AM sports cars near Edinburgh.
It had done 26000 miles when I bought it and has now done 47500 miles which means I’ve not driven it anywhere near as much as I should have.
In the last couple of years I’ve hardly used it at all which has got me thinking maybe it’s time to move on...
What’s a sensible price for a year 2000 Cerbera 4.5?

Similar story to me. I bought mine 11 years ago and have done 27k since then. Occasionally have the same "maybe someone else should be having some fun in this" thoughts but manage to suppress them.
Ideal position to be in, not having to sell it - you can hold out for the price you want. If I was you I wouldn't be thinking of letting it go for less than £30k.

When I say move on I mean maybe to another TVR, I’ve had my head turned by a Sagaris.
STE VR how does your T350 compare to your Cerbera?
They are chalk and cheese but both excellent. I enjoyed the Cerbera but always wanted a T350. The T350 is much more an everyday just hop in and drive car so gets more use than the Cerb did whereas the Cerb was more an event to drive.(if that makes sense?). Just spent over 2 years restoring her and is lovely to work on. STE VR how does your T350 compare to your Cerbera?

Both of those look stunning, that’s an unusual colour for a T350, never seen one that colour before.
I know what you mean by the Cerbera being an event, it still gets the pulse racing every time I drive it, having the Joolz remap made it so much more drivable too.
I’ve never been in a T car, I’m hoping none of that specialness is lost, I’m guessing the T cars are slightly more refined?

I remember being told that the T cars handle so much better than the Cerbera, I've not driven one to compare though. I miss my Cerbera still now and I only had mine for 6 years, they are special cars for sure. Moving into another TVR is still a very big win for me and I'd love another of any sort.
Seeing your nickname, do you also own a 120 Coupe?
For me the Cerb was always the proper modern successor of it.
Having a T car and the 4.5 Cerb I much more prefer the handling and the V8 engine of the Cerb.
Both Tuscan and Cerbera are an event to drive, but the Cerb, being a late one, feels much more refined and relaxed.
Disadvantage of the Cerb is, being a summer car, its fixed roof.
That´s why we use the Tuscan far more often.

My dad has an xk120 coupe and an e-type, hopefully one day they will be mine. For me the Cerb was always the proper modern successor of it.
I agree, for me the Wheeler era TVRs were modern day successors to the classic Jaguar sports cars of the 50s and 60s.

I'd agree, but then I would, having a 4.5 myself. Ideal position to be in, not having to sell it - you can hold out for the price you want. If I was you I wouldn't be thinking of letting it go for less than £30k.

I have owned my Cerbera 10 years last month. I've been dabbling with the idea of selling her for a 4 seat soft top but can't find a car suitable enough (almost bought a DB9 Volante) and like a few of you have already mentioned every time I see the Cerb let alone drive it I think NO I can't part with her!
Nice pictures, a couple taken either side of Hartside if I'm not mistaken.
I had a T350 (4.0) before my Cerbera. Agree that the Cerb is much more of an event to drive, but I do miss my T350. Never been in a Sag whilst moving - and they are a bit too 'cartoony' in appearance for my liking. Stick with the Cerbera. . . you know it makes sense!

I've had two T350s as well as three Cerberas... my advice would be, can you afford both? It's very difficult to compare the two as they have such different characters and each car does different things so well. When I had a T350, I missed the Cerbera's brutality, and the noise, and the incredible interior and the feeling that you were in a leather lined race car; and yet, the T350 is so much more usable, and so beautiful to drive without sacrificing any of the TVR character, it's a tough decision. The Cerbera feels like the cruder of the two cars (all mine were '97 cars, perhaps the later cars were more honed) but I still pine for a Cerbera every day... whereas I only pine for another T350 once a week. Maybe that's the answer?

I like the T350, I think it's got it's proportions just right when viewed side on, but if you think the Cerbera is crude and brutal you need to get it up to Chesterfield and get it mapped. Mine is so lazy and driveable it's brilliant.I have a friend with a Cerbera who had this done, loved it, had an itch for a Sag and bought one as well. The roads around him are really rutted so he's not been out in it much and he's put the Cerbera in storage. It's much more track focussed, certainly gets the looks, but I know which one of us will be more relaxed when we arrive in Belgium or France later this year

Thanks to everyone for all the replies.
I went to look at a Sagaris today and now if anything I’m even less sure what to do.
I really like the look of the Sagaris and I know the market dictates what they’re worth but can I really justify 3 times the value of a Cerbera, I know they’re not 3 times the car. Maybe, as some have said here, I need to wait until I can afford both. The good thing is I know my car isn’t losing money so I’m in no rush to sell, I just hope Sags don’t keep rising at the rate they have been over the last few years and reach a price where they’re completely beyond my reach.

After now owning for 12 years I’m once again thinking about selling.
Over the last 2 years I hardly used it at all, I know lockdown hasn’t helped but even without being in lockdown I’m not sure I’d have used it all that much more.
Going to get it booked in for a service and MOT at X Works Service so it’s all tip top ready for sale.
Does anyone have any experience of sale or return with any TVR specialists or am I better off selling privately?

Thanks to XK for raising this point and sorry for hi-jacking it.
My first car was an Austin A40. I bought it for £35 and I considered it ancient.
It was a '65 and I bought her in '75 and kept her for one year, figuring that I'd got all I could out of her.
I had a sudden moment of reality, a few weeks ago.
I bought BlackBeauty© when she was 4 years old. This September she will turn 20 !!
By far and away the car I've owned the longest.
Whether I'm driving or working on her, it's a sheer joy !
I drive her to the south of France, Italy and every time I go to the Supermarket.
Bought with 32K on, now strutting her stuff with 102K.
The best car for driving, posing and bragging about that I've ever owned.
It makes me wonder what people, who want to give up "the special event", are doing with their lives ?
She will be under my slipper until they tell me I've got Stage IV !
Oh, sorry XK, the answer to your original question is £44K
