Hi

Need a car for a couple of months

Will be used then hopefully sold on for as small a loss as possible

Needs;

Seat Alhambra size or similar estate (dog to fit in)/ 4x4
Reliable - main thing
Not dog slow

That is it. Not fussed on make, auto or manual, petrol or diesel, mpg

What should I be looking at?

Thanks

Mk4 mondeo Estate. Like mine...

Huuuuge boot, 50mpg, a genuinely 'nice' drive if not sporty. Cheap to buy, cheap to fix, will always be saleable. Not quick but usable perkiness on the 2.0 tdci.

Should get a good one in budget. I bought an OK one for £1300 with a higher spec than anything else I've owned for 30x the price - air conditioned seats for example?!! Mine is at 266k and doing well!

Jeep Grand Cherokee? A lot of car for the money, good for dogging. rofl

Though if you have an older dog an estate would be better on their joints for getting out.

Hi

Sorry for the late reply - had not given the Mondeo a thought but looks a great shout.

Is the 2.5 petrol the engine to for? Manual or Automatic?

Jeep is also a decent option. Any specific models before I start the dogging vehicle search smile

Iirc the 2.5t is in the £500+ tax bracket tho. A good car with that engine but twice the running costs all round as a diesel

Ahh interesting, had I known this I (maybe) would've got a mondeo and mapped it up to ST power.

But I got the ST so win win. tongue out

They were only 5bhp off the ST, you still got a very good car smile
