So i just bought my first porsche a 911.2 GT3RS , and im looking for an exhaust which give good noise at low rpm should i go for sharkwerk / akrapovic full exhaust or Ipe or any tips / recommendation ? . I have also wanted to put techart carbon parts but porsche told me all this as well as replacing the exhaust will affect the porsche warranty , any idea how important the warranty is ? , i am quite new to this need some help !.

I've put a JCR titanium bypass on my 991.2GT3 and its awesome..In terms of warranty under current EU regs, a manufacturer cannot reject a warranty claim, unless they can prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the breakage was directly caused or exasperated by the aftermarket part.
With a center bypass exhaust it's virtually impossible to cause damage another part of the car.

The exhaust on a 991.2 GT3RS is an Akrapovik system, nothing to be gained in replacing it. It's even stamped beside the Porsche Part number.

The vast majority of Sharkwerks bypass pipes we sell here in the UK are for owners that are just looking for more of the great GT3 soundtrack at a more licence friendly RPM range. The Sharkwerks bypass will give you this by simply removing the rear silencer. Your Gen 2 RS already has 100mm exhaust tips from the factory so no visual gain with the optional Sharkwerks tips so simply a bypass pipe change and refit the original tips. We have these in stock here in the UK for either install or next day delivery - PM me.

With regard to warranty as someone has stated above any issue would have to be as a direct consequence of the bypass pipe installation and as the only thing behind it is the tips I wouldn't worry. Also as its just a bypass pipe its a quick job to switch back to the standard one if required.

Any other questions just ask.

I've had a SW on my 997.2 C4S and it was a great sound. Then fitted the BRE bypass on my 997.2 GT3 and fitted the larger tips and never had any problems with the bolts. But I found the BRE was even louder, maybe a bit too loud. Great in the beginning but after a while.....
Then there was the proverbial problem if I ever wanted to track it, much too loud.
Now got 991.1 GT3RS and thinking I'd like the SW or the JCR bypass but so far resisted as it does restrict you on tracks. Maybe later in the year....

Sharkwerks for me - had it on all 991 GT3 and RS iterations and it makes a really good difference when you want it to - which means it's not intrusive when you don't want it, but when you do then it's a lot better than stock.

Even though the .2RS box is made by Akra - it is still a silencer and a bypass removes that - which in turn makes it sound better. I've been really happy with the quality of Sharkwerks and the price is very good too.

I don’t get why people take off a ti one and swap it out with pig iron lol.

It’s an RS has to be Ti all the way.

I have a Sharkwerks by pass system complete with the large tips. It will fit 911's from 997 up to the latest GT3 Gen2 from which it came off. I'm open to offers, please pm me if interested.

I've been toying with a better exhaust system for the last few months for my .2 GT3 but I think it's too late now because it'll be going to pastures new in the next couple of months to make way for my cars bigger brother!

Because it sounds better - what’s so hard to understand?? Sharkwerks weighs less too - so what does it matter what material it’s made of??

Dundon catted, if you want to go catless and risk your warranty even further fabspeed long tube headers and jcr (?) Make decent priced headers.
All of these options will make quite a bit of power, remove the biggest bulk of the weight, the side mufflers and actually sound nice (little drone and louder).

I was going to go JCR on my .2 3RS but as Woking restrictive noise levels here in uk it wouldn’t pass any. So deciding what to do at present, I’d love a Ti race system with there valved system

I would feel a cheap skate on a £200k car taking off a ti system and replacing it with a iron one when for the a few hundred more you can buy a 6lb ti one.

I don’t get the sharkwerks fad or prices, they are a bit of a rip off imo.

Firstly each to their own. However i would agree i would not take my .2 991 RS TI system off to put a steel on.
I have a sharkwerks on my .1 GT3 PTS and was 'OK' i wasn't over the moon with it, seemed to give a slightly bit more torque low down which was nice.

JCR full system valved is more than likely what i will go for, tbh the only thing holding me back ordering is they are relatively new, i remember when IPE done the full TI system for the .1 3RS which i had and the cracking was a shambles so it does make nervous, no doubt having spoke with JCR over social media its a great product, do i take the plunge!

The best thing I have found with the Sharkwerks (which would be the same for any other bypass system) is that it releases more sound lower in the rev range - which is a good thing, especially for keeping your licence. This applies more to the .1 than the .2 models, as in the .1 you need 6k rpm to really get it to sing - which in 3rd gear is licence losing speeds.

So for me, this basic bypass type of system (which replaces the rear silencer with straight through pipes) makes me enjoy the car more of the time - as I don’t drive around at 6k+ rpm all the time. Although when you do it’s mega biggrin
