I can see it, and the second is sharper and slightly more saturated, and does look better, but something isn't right with the way it's been resized - the "Aston Martin" text on the sun-strips gives it away - it looks a bit blocky on my screen. How have these been resized?

I find a resize to 749 pixels wide and a slight unsharp mask is best before uploading them - but it depends if your photo host is doing the resize or if it's you that's done it?

Much you have learned.

Not ready for lesson 2 yet you are.

Much practicing to do you have.

Master Yoda.

PS - now lose the gravel and flowers at the bottom of the pic, and while you've got the Clone Tool out lose the rubber chunks on the track and the white spot on the grass behind the orange car (for starters)

Cloned out the '4 eyes' effects

After.
Compressed range with the "levels" dialogue box.
Selected up the red and yellow of the car stickers and decreased the saturation.
Selected up the cars using the lasso tool.
Went to "variations" and increased the saturation and dynamic range of the background.

Applied a crop to focus in on the cars and corner

Selected up the cars
Inverted the selection
Removed the colour by changing saturation
Cropped
Selected most of the picture using the selection tool
Inverted selection
Set background pen colour to black
Feathered by 20 pixels
Hit "delete"
Increased image size by 20

Not sure I like any of them myself - but it's fun!

I obviously have too much time on my hands this evening!

Challenges challenges!

How about making the kerbs red and white minus all the rubber marks?

A more general question.

When did Aston Martin start their grass track racing team anyway?

Shots are not too bad. Wouldn't look out of place in a GT4-ish simulation...

I thought they added that "little extra"

Still - happy to oblidge, including the bits of rubber, and I've made the grass a bit more TellyTubby land

that looks nice, except you can see the join between the sky and the ground, i'm guessing you divided them up to fiddle with the sky only. If you use a the select tool and feathering then you can get a much more subtle effect, a bit more like this,

see here

at the bottom for more info if you are interested

No you "silly boy"

You've created a line in the middle of those trees that isn't in the original!
