Info on 2.0 L VW I4-T engine!?
Discussion
Evening all,
I'm looking at getting a VW (kind of).... well actually i'm looking to get a Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback ~2009 Manual.
Reason I'm posting here is that apparently their 2L Diesel is lifted from the VW world. And from what I can see from wikipedo is that the code name is 2.0 L VW I4-T... however I'm not sure about code names as I can't seem to find much on it. Details here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Lancer
Just wondering a few things if anyone could shed light on the following:
1. Most are 60-80k on the clock. I'm assuming these have at least double the range left in them!?
2. I used to own a 2009 Seat IBIZA 2L TDI FR and was wondering how it would match in comparison?
3. I remapped my FR and bumped it to ~170bhp. My wife was learning to drive, so I naturally had to show her how to wheelspin (for control purposes of course). In the process, my turbo started throwing shapes and ended in a rather shocking reapir bill (£1k + extras). Would a remap be off the cards given previous experiences at this age?
4. Realistic mpg. My seat was sitting happily at 55mpg. Even got it to 80+ once. Similar stats you think?
5. Currently sits at the second most reliable car on reliability index. Should this means its better overall in comparison to its VW counterparts (creaking plastic asside?)
5. Anything else I may have missed out which may be worth mentioning?
Best,
Theo

If you click on the blue highlighted “Vw” in the engine description on the wiki link you posted, it takes you to this page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen...
This suggests they used the 2.0 “pd” Vw engines, if you know its power output you can then search for any common issues across the cars that engine is used in across the Vw group.

I saw this before but found it a bit confusing. It's 138bhp for sure. Will have a gander on desktop later. This suggests they used the 2.0 “pd” Vw engines, if you know its power output you can then search for any common issues across the cars that engine is used in across the Vw group.
