So following a puncture (which was not repairable) in the right rear I called Event Mobile Tyres.

The guy turned up at my flat in a van, with ALL the gear (air jacks, balancing gear, torque wrench etc.......)

A pair of 265/35ZR18 N1 ContiSport Contacts (to match the fronts) for a GREAT price, less than HALF what I got quoted elsewhere. NO marks on the alloys and a half hour job.

HIGHLY recommended

Credit where it's due. Credit where it's due......

I'm in for some new rears next week. Michelin Pilot Sports, to match the fronts.

Out of interest, how did they get the old tyres off the rims? Did they use a special bit of kit to protect the alloys?

The guy was very careful but no special tools. Ineterstingly and tellingly he didn't mind me hanging around while he worked on them.

I've got the 18" Turbo alloys and they are very delicate, so I was sh1tting it I must confess.

Clearly they know what they are doing. Was very impressed when he got out air jacks and a softsocket to avoid scratching the wheelnuts.

Good service, and GREAT value.

Seriously you should call them. Let me knwo how you get on.

Cheers

What was the 'great price' for the tyres?

I used this company. They damaged ALL FOUR of my wheels. They paid for the refurbishment but it was alot of hassle since I had to take a half day off work to get them sorted out.

I won't be using them again.

993tt - so sorry to hear that. I think a lot depends on which chap you get.

The guy who did mine was very careful, although I was hanging around and I am 15 stone with a shaved head and a pathological dislike for anyone or anything which might even THINK about putting a hairline scratch on my baby.

I paid £350 for two tyres including fitting at my place at an insociable hour, valves, balancing, VAT and a hefty tip for a job well done. Bear in mind that I didn't have to take half a day off work, and that I didn't spend £10 on fuel going to Bracknell and back where I used to get tyres, and I consider myself to have got them for free, in fact I got paid to get new tyres....

Only £10 in fuel to from London to Bracknell and back?

You must be watering the Optimax down!

Bracknell Tyre & Battery in Longshot Lane I presume?

They do seem to know the Porsche details.

I've used these guys a lot and they always provide great service at great prices - will even move on price if you haggle.

I was particularly impressed when they came to fit tyres to my brand new Gemballa alloys. The guy took one look and thought "these are very light and delicate - this is a specialised job". So, he took the wheels down to London, got the tyres fitted and didn't charge me for the hassle. Top company!!
