under the steering wheel

there is probaly a thread somewere about this but i cant see it. anyway there is a knob with a white dot near the steering wheel height ajustment, does anyone know what this is for?

I thought it was the volume control on the exhaust, I have had a special Max Muppet one fitted called the Spinal Tap Special, its goes up to 11.
