It doesn't exist.

Most people would say N E fourteen A B J so it doesn't work!

No-one would say it as it’s meant to sound. You’d say it in three separate groups: NE-14-ABJ. No-one would say the final bit as A BJ, nor would they say the first bit as NE1 4.

The only person who could read that number plate out loud and sound convincing is Stephen Hawking.

Perhaps any of you naysayers above would like to listen to the recorded clip below the picture which has the stadium announcer actually reading it out, as... N-E-1-4-A-B-J. biggrin

This has been done to death.

Lots of videos whereby people have read it as, “one, four”.

I’d be saying 14 though.

Clearly lots of people WOULD say it as it is written. There's a definite split of people who would read it as Fourteen and those who would say One Four, I doubt its an even split of course but the stadium announcer was clearly a "One Four" person as demonstrated by the video..

Anyone with any regular experience of reading numbers out loud would read it as 1 - 4 rather than 14, just to avoid the possible confusion with 40, I reckon. Doesn't matter that you don't get number plates with 40 on them, it'll be too natural to do it differently for a number plate.

I'd certainly read it as individual digits personally.
