Ive been summoned to court in 2 weeks. My solicitor is away for a few days so it isnt ideal i only have X amount of days to sort legal representation out. Out of curiosity can the court date be moved?

Yes. If you have a solicitor then he will deal with it.

Contact the clerk's office by phone or, better still, a visit. Explain your problem with legal assistance and they should assist.

The date of the hearing is often changed some minutes after the case has been called.

Don’t visit the court in person. If you call then they will require the request be put in writing / email. Better option is to email first then call if you don’t get a response.

OP, ignore the nonsense about a hearing date often changing moments after calling the case on.

Better still, just get your solicitor to sort this for you.

Despite your solicitor being away, his office should sort this out for you. Unless he is a one man band criminal practice which, these days, seems unlikely. You never know, they might even find someone else to represent you on that very day; it does happen.................

Do the prosecution have to reveal all their evidence before a hearing starts?
