Hello all
With the nice weather thought I would take the car out for a run today but found battery flat came to remove it to put on charge and it ain’t coming out . It’s stuck between wing and body where master cylinder bolts on,there’s movement but not enough to get it out . Do I have wrong battery or am I missing something but it got in so surely it must come out .
Cheers

Thanks for the reply Colin I’ll have another try it looks the right size and I can lift it a bit till it hits under cut out on wing . But surely it went in so it’s gotta come out ,just didn’t want to force it. I’ll get some pics if I have no joy

Same issue on both of mine. It will come out. A bit of a wiggle, then end furthest from the bulkhead up a little, and then angle into the engine bay then tip it up on quite a steep angle. It always takes me a few minutes to remember how to contort the bloody thing out.

I charge mine in situ, just remove the earth lead. Easier to take the charger to the car usually. (Even if it's in the street I will take my extension lead out and lock the spool end in the car manually, with the charger, charge leads out the drivers door and under the bonnet.)

Thats the joy of TVR...smile

Mine has such a small space that the only battery that fits chips the bodywork, and alleviates you of skin from your fingers......well I say the only but if you want to spend a couple of hundred pounds then get a red top battery ...The 280i was a nightmare as the space was tapered...redface

It’s out and on charge , kept pushing and pulling up and down and once the one front corner was past the inner wing cutout it come straight out . If cutout was a couple of inches longer it would be a lot easier , anyway thanks for everybody’s help

Yes my Battery is a pain to get out it involved wiggle it around, loose the skin of a knuckle or two.

So now it only comes off the car if it fails and has to be replaced,
Normally charge it a couple of times over the winter when its on sorn, just open the bpnnet and put on charge, with it still attached to the car.
Done that for about four years now (last time battery died) and never a problem
