Door opening problem
Discussion
The solenoid is under the side wall carpet, immediately behind the door catch mechanism in the door frame.
There are two solenoids mounted there - one does the door opening, the other the locking.
Reveal the solenoid, work out which is which by locking and unlocking the car, and then get someone to press the button under the mirror while you watch to see if the solenoid moves.
If you want to know what you are expecting to see, try looking at the passenger side one first.
Generally speaking, I found that if I could hear it, it was working, but they do fail and my driver's side one failed last year.
The new replacement ones from TVR parts suppliers have the wrong plug on them, so you will need to do some cutting and soldering.
