Hi guys,

Anyone know the stance on mods on M cars in general with warranty? If add lowering springs and exhaust will these or anything else void warranty?

Thanks

Stance I’ve had is that the modifications won’t be warranted nor any fault their addition causes or contributes to.
Simple example was if I were to fit non. * marked tyres to my X Drive. This (my own tire people said) has been know to affect (I think) transmission on X drives.

Depending on which iteration of warranty( and if it’s the insured iteration which level of cover you have ), there are often a fair amount of exclusions anyway and I’m sure some of these involve(parts of) the exhaust for example.

If in doubt contact BMW warranty team, contact via the website where you go for quotes.
They will specify.

May also be worth asking/searching over on CSL Register as alot of owners will have modified their cars for the track and then made subsequent warranty claims. May give you an idea of how much flexibility there *could* be if you get on well with your dealer.
