Have a 2007 320i bmw 3 series

Past week I have noticed when in neutral the car has a whirring noise in idle but this noise disappears when I press down on the clutch.

When I press the clutch about halfway down I can again hear the noise and it's louder at this point

Any ideas what this could be

The beginning of dual mass flywheel failure perhaps or clutch release bearing?

Clutch release bearing. Will only get worse, while it’s apart get a new clutch put in as most of the cost is in the labour.

If the sound is not too loud, it could be the throw-out bearing which is quite normal.
