Numbers (again) - light mods....

Now then... not read on here for a while, but noticed a thread about numbers.
500 on the road was banded about - which doesnt sound like many.
What i am thinking about is the 'modernisation'of the look.
I have covered most of the standard things on mine - Spiders (still have old wheels though!)
Suspension
Brakes
Decat etc.
I must say i do love the upgraded lights on the front, although some of the afterburners are a bit maxy p for me.
I reckon standard round lights (pre LW era) though must now be the minority.... and hence make them more valuable
I reckon IF i had 1.2-1.5k to spend, it will be having it fettled by someone with magic digits!

I picked my car up from Ewelme Coachworks last night (where Paul did an awesome job on it) after having a front end respray and reparing the damage caused by some toerag and a set of keys. In order to respray it properly I wanted the pods removing. Turns out they needed to be replaced, but I decided after much deliberation to replace them with new orignal round lights. Just wanted to keep mine as original as possible.
In keeping with that theme I have kept the wheels and even still have the original clutch, although how much longer that lasts god only knows....

Seen that mentioned on another thread - does look nice. and you dont get all the white cack from polish to clean off in the gaps!
Not something i would do just for that effect - unless of course I had a insurance payout or desperately required a front end respray.
Certainly unique though - which is good!

It was something I wanted to do before I even owned a Cerb and it was the only thing I didn't like about them. In my opinion it looked like an after thought. The one I bought had some stonechips and when I hit a badger and damaged the fibreglass around the number plate I thought I'd get it done at the same time. I didn't get the insurance involved and the whole lot cost less than £1k.
Which is fine - and worth doing, especially as you damaged the front.
I would certainly consider it if that happened to me.

Mine is still pretty stock, I like the Speed 12 lights, but there are lots of them out there now, so I'll stick to the original 'big lights'. Especially now I can actually see with them
I've installed Lexus-style rear lights, which I like the look of, but thats about it, cosmetic wise.
Even still rolling on deeply unfashionable "16 wheels, but its what you need out here in the country
Oh, and clear indicators....

I prefer the big lights for some reason, but they only look good on bright coloured cerbies, the clustered lights seem to suit darker cerbies more, all IMO of course.
Me and the bodyshop guru are still undecided on what front lights we're going for, but we kind of have an idea... agressive and flowing is the key thing.

yeah - i would imagine that the speed 12 lights are more aerodynamic that the round ones.. but i aint never going to try and hit 170, not on the m'way anyway! Still waiting for my ban to come through as it is!
I really want to do the clear 'landrover type' lights at the front, and the repeaters - that WILL be it body wise.
