Looking for my old Manta
Discussion
I once owned this Opel Manta bought in Germany back in 1978 then registered on my return to the UK. reg number JCX 977W. I know it is still on the road but I would like to trace her just for a one off visit as a nostalgia point to see how the old girl is getting on. Any info on how I can trace her would be much appreciated thank you.

I know it is still on the road...
What makes you think that? It has no recorded MOT, which means that it hasn't been MOT'd since the records went online, and it hasn't been taxed recently, either.Just because it hasn't been formally recorded as scrapped, doesn't mean that it hasn't been.
As has already been mentioned, you can check yourself on the DVLA website - you certainly don't need to be a trader. The results are:
MoT - no results returned (most likely because it has not been mot'd since the paper system was done away with).
Tax - It's last tax disc ran out on 1st August 1983. Hence its most likely been scrapped around that time and DVLA were not informed by the (then) owner to take the reg off the system.
Sadly, a number of my past cars also come up with similar results. Some of which I know to have gone to that great smelter in the sky..... Things were very lax back then.

Hi guys I know its still on the road over 25 year old needs no tax. A friend was in the motor trade still had the company password to check cars for HP ect it had a valid MOT so on that info i'm guessing it's on the road. The only info he couldn't get was the old girls address.
It might not need to "pay" tax, but it should still show as taxed or SORN'd, which it doesn't. The MoT shows as "not MoT'd", that doesn't mean it has a valid one.I'm afraid the others are probably correct, it's gone, unless the owners club know different.
