Just curious. my 6 series had a software upgrade and since then it's lost the seat memory, radio stations, it's reset the door lock settings, the passenger door no long opens via the sensor and it's twice moaned that the battery has discharged while stationary. I assume all of this is due to the update generating a fault. My dad had similar with a Mercedes which spent a week at the dealer having it's software uploaded to Germany so some engineer could fiddle with it so it doesn't seem to be a rare occurrence.

BMW have booked it in 4 weeks time(?!!) and said they need to make me aware of the diagnostic charge, I asked if this would be refunded should they discover the issue was caused by themselves and was told I could discuss that with the technician on the day. This seems like a fob off to me but I'm a deliver in not being a ranty moron when someone tells me how things work, I'll do things their way and see what happens, however 4 weeks is also a long time just to find out if I'm going to be laughed at.

Anyone had similar? Whats the best advice?

For the record I don't care one little bit about the radio or the seat positions I just figured if they were going to be reset I'd have been told and since several settings have now been reset this might be indicative of a wider issue?

Those problems you have sound like your personal comfort settings have been over written due to the update scratchchin the battery glitch may or may not be a fault of the update and something else possibly like maybe a failing battery also for example but could be that the update as made that system function more critical of battery condition scratchchin take it back see what they say wink they may reinstate your comfort settings for you as a goodwill gesture & save you sitting in the car for 1/2 hour faffing around with buttons and procedures often found in the owners manual

I swapped the setting back to comfort from the driver only in whatever menu that is, the main issue is the passenger door handle, the other 3 work fine, I wonder if it's broken and it's leaking current somewhere which is causing the drain. Odd that they both happened at once

If you have comfort access then thats a strong possibility frown the door handles are troublesome and do the parasitic drain thing I have had one in already but know of others

This would be the 3rd, the first 2 the dealer did when I bought it. Having a look it's probably cheaper the buy a 2nd hand unit spray it and replace. it'll be cheaper than the diagnostic which they'll just argue over :/ frustrating!

This is why I love my 350z none of this faff!
