Skoda Superb estate
Discussion
I'm toying with the idea of picking one of these up, looking at new or nearly new. Does anybody here have one, what's the sweet spot in terms of spec?
I'll be using it for a longish daily commute in the motorway and I'll be dragging the family away on holiday in it. Ideally looking at the estate, but unsure what spec I should be aiming for. Any advice would be great.

Hi - I have the Hatch version, so identical in terms of engines and spec levels.
Mines a 2015 '65' plate 2.0Tdi SE-L manual which has now covered 101,000 miles.
Issues;
Suspension creaks over speed bumps at slow speeds, I think it's been revised in the newer models so shouldn't be an issue
Glovebox needed replacing
That's it, the car has been really solid and has covered the relatively high mileage with little fuss. The tyres have lasted between 40,000 and 30,000 miles, still on original rear tyres!
Front discs and pads are still original, rears were replaced due to corrosion last winter. Have in a look in my garage for more details on the running costs - my local Skoda dealer have been great.
Mine is going in the next few months as it's a company car. I'd have another one but the company lease costs were too high and Skoda wouldn't support to previous levels.
Hope that helps

Yep I have one... 2015 estate 2.0D 4x4 manual...now on c46k miles...............was due to replace but going to hang on another year to see what happens with Brexit
Excellent car, cavernous inside but still drives excellent, even the wife likes driving it. I Have previously owned many estates including Volvo XC, Audi Allroads and IMO it compares very well with them and not had any issues with it whatsoever and would have another in a heartbeat.

What sort of MPG do you get out of it on the motorway?

I also have one - 2016 190hp diesel estate with the DSG gearbox and in ~36k it's had zero problems to report.
I went for the Laurin & Klement spec, which was the top spec available at the time (SportLine wasn't out) and as a show-room car it came with a long list of options like the panoramic sunroof (which is nice, but I wouldn't have paid £1200 for it), reversing camera, variable boot floor, parcel shelf, front pax seat adjust from rear, wifi remote control of the navigation (useless feature), space saver spare wheel (yes, that's an option these days), paddle shifters, rear seat release from boot, boot liner.. the rest of the spec is as you'd expect - the L&K had everything thrown at it including a very comfortable leather interior.
For me, the variable boot floor is a must have if you do any amount of carrying as it makes the boot floor completely flat from the tailgate in, but still gives you the option of dropping it down if you really need the extra 3" of height.
Reversing camera is very nice as it's a very long car. Then again, it does park itself if you ask it to
It's time to change for me, but only because I don't do the miles anymore - I bought it for the ~50mpg commute when I was doing 750 miles per week and (as you can see from the mileage) that quickly stopped! PCP wasn't such a smart option, it turns out...

Do the people who've replied have manual or DSG boxes? I'm currently looking at which 1.5 petrol spec to go for on a Superb Estate and not sure which transmission to go for. Quite like the look of the sportline although it has no performance benefits over any others in the range makes me wonder whether i'm better off saving money and getting the executive instead.

Thanks, it's the L&K that I'm looking at. The spec list is impressive, just need to work out how the cabin feels compared to my AudiI went for the Laurin & Klement spec, which was the top spec available at the time (SportLine wasn't out) and as a show-room car it came with a long list of options like the panoramic sunroof (which is nice, but I wouldn't have paid £1200 for it), reversing camera, variable boot floor, parcel shelf, front pax seat adjust from rear, wifi remote control of the navigation (useless feature), space saver spare wheel (yes, that's an option these days), paddle shifters, rear seat release from boot, boot liner.. the rest of the spec is as you'd expect - the L&K had everything thrown at it including a very comfortable leather interior.

I've only been in an A5, but every bit as luxurious, IMHO. The fit & finish is top class. They're fantastic value at 3 years old, I think; once someone else has eaten the initial depreci .. wait, that was me. Damn

I set out wanting the GreenLine or whatever it's called - the 1.5/1.6 diesel with manual box - for the economy, and wound up getting the most powerful diesel with the DSG gearbox.. scope creep is a terrible thing
Whereabouts are you? If you're local, more than welcome to pop over for a chat and nose around one without a dealer standing over your shoulder

I have the 1.5 150ps SEL Executive DSG Hatch at the moment, its a decent barge with "adequate" power its not going to win any traffic light grand prix. I seem to get mid to low 30s mpg during my mixed driving but then its only covered 2k miles so far this could improve. SEL Exec spec is a nice place top be with the full leather interior and the larger nav screen. can't say i've tried the nav as i tend to just use apple car play.
