Glorious N52 BMW E90 330i Manual - and a bit of car history

A great write up and a lovely selection of cars.

I also went E92 M3(Manual) and then to a E90 330i(auto but would have preferred a manual like yours). The N52 is a lovely smooth revvy engine, but in typical Bmw fashion it is muted in the cabin and from the exhaust. I would have liked more vocality from it personally.

Your 330i is in my fave colour combo too.

My pops has an N52 E92 330i and I was intruiged to read about the vanos, water pump, etc problems you listed.

Are these known problems? I want to make him aware if they are. Have you got any links? Cheers!

Vanos o rings are a few pounds. Some water pumps last a very long time, I know of one N52 with the original pump at 190k miles.
