Best places to look for used Chims?

My suggestion is to post a couple of Wanted Adverts on Pistonheads and TVRCC to include your requirements - year, spec (400/450/500), miles, price etc.
No harm in trying I suppose but that's a members only forum so it has limited traffic. The PH classifieds is bound to have more choice. Private sale ownership is linked to PHers profiles so potential buyers can easily review the ownership experience of the current owners PH classifieds, ebay and Autotrader in that order IMHO. A lot of 'kite flying' goes on with the last one I think. Exchange and Mart is hopeless these days and I don't think much of gumtree.
There are other outlets like shpock where you may get one from somebody but I don't see it as a site for selling cars really.
There's Faceache of course but sellers of vehicles on there seem to think they'll get less 'timewasters'. Just over half the population are on it so I don't see that; as well as denying almost half the population of seeing the vehicle listed for sale in the first place!

Classic & Sportscar have Chimaeras listed:

The same cars used to be listed on PH too but recently, the listings are not the same. Possibly something to do with Bauer / Haymarket?

This might be a sacrilegious question here but apart form PH, where are the best places to look for used Chims that I might not have come across? Desperately looking for one so want to maximise my options.
Thanks
People on these forums are usually very helpful in listing any adds they may come across. These can come from various sources, but it helps if you post Thanks
what part of the country you are in.
Which county is usually sufficient.
Im sure you would travel any distance for the "right' car, but the more you view, the better chance you have of finding a good one.
Being fibreglass most cars look really good bodywork/paint wise, but chassis condition should be your main concern.
If the outriggers are original, then they will need doing sooner rather than later. Some of the later T-Cars are now showing rot on the chassis.
If i was in the market for one, then a full body refurb would be my start point.
Saying what Your approx budget is, would also help others in searching on your behalf. Good luck with your search, and when you find and drive one you
will end up like the rest of us......................with a permanent grin on your face, every time you drive it !
Thanks for the advice, it’s not my first one, just had an unfortunate argument with the M25 in my last one.
Budget is 13-15k top end, looking for a 450, I’m based in Bucks. Will travel though. Want a mk2 also with mileage reasonable.
Although last time I posted anything similar to the above it got removed as a wanted ad.

71k miles may be a bit above what you'd like, and it lacks PAS but 450s are not very common, and it's up in S

Thanks, the top one won't go lower on price and the bottom one I'm going to see when he gets it out of storageTechnoholic said:
I really would like a mk2, so 430s are out. I might widen my search eventually but not yet
Hi Technoholic, I have just sent you an email and reading this thread, I now understand your budget! Good luck in your search.Having had both an early Mk1 and now a Mk2, I would not rule out the early one. The main differences are the gearbox (use difflock in the rover box and the ratios are better!) and the dash. The 430 might even have the dark dials, going in opposite directions, which is a good thing. The seats are more comfortable on the earlier cars (in my opinion), the Chassis has better powder coating and the 4.3 is widely accepted as a very good engine...
