Over the years i have used a variation of Scala Q1's and Q3's for my commuting and touring. My latest Q3 is about to expire well...the headphones and mic have at least). I would also like to capture some footage on the tours so thinking i might go for the 10c pro.

Has anybody got one or used one? The good thing about the scala is that i can wear ear plugs and still hear the radio and have a conversation at 90mph.

Will i get this from the senna?

Toxicnerve on here has some sort of headset and I’ve called him whilst he’s riding. Not sure which one he has but it’s crystal clear at motorway speeds.

Great - do you wear ear plugs?

I don’t but think I will be getting some, the volume available will be plenty even with plugs in.

Have they waterproofed this model at all? My old 10R used to shut down in heavy rain and eventually died after a good soaking. When I looked at other Senas it seemed to be quite commonly reported.

I've got a Scala Freecom at the moment and the missus says the audio quality when she's talking to me is much worse than the Sena was. I also struggle with the volume at speed, although I'm wearing earplugs to protect what is left of my hearing.

I've been considering another pair of moulded bluetooth in-ears as the sound was fantastic at any speed. Downside was the lack of control and the annoying microphone on the cable between them.

I use a Q3 with disposable ear plugs and have previously used comply foam tipped earphones which are good, but as you say the wire is annoying and you can't talk on the phone unless you plug them into the actual Q3 unit;

I am a bit worried about the 10c pro after your comments about waterproof'ness - I ride most days so it is normally the battery that dies after doing too many cycles, takes a year or so normally.

I don't know about the 10C, but certainly the other Sena units aren't rated as waterproof, although some of them are labelled as water resistant. As with anything, not everyone has issues, but just thought it worth throwing out there as I know your commute far too well!

I’ve had no probs with my 10c, I have received calls on it and people couldn’t believe I was on a motorbike.

Fm radio is a bit crap but stream from iPlayer. The tap to active is a bit sketchy, I’m banding my helmet to try and activate the bloody thing. If you change the sensitivity the wind sets it off.

Mines a sena smh10r

Couldn't pair with toxicnerve because I think w were just impatient. All my lot typically use sena and find the quality plus battery life excellent

I’ve a Sena, not sure if the model number, the one that’s “built in” to my Neotech lid. I find it great for SENA to SENA but average when connected to another brand and if there’s a group of you, unless everyone is SENA then I can only do one to one not getin the whole group.

I have a Sena 10u, the one that integrates into the helmet. I ride with earplugs and have no problems with the volume.

I ride all year round with a 10c.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th now. They die or get problems due to water fortunately before the warranty has been up.
