Corsa D 1.3cdti clutch knocking.
Discussion
Hi guys!
Hope you gonna lead me to solution.
After clutch-kit change(clutch, pressure plate, csc bearing) I can hear bad knocking noise coming from gearbox or clutch. The knocking is only under load, If I lift the front wheels up and try to put in gear there is no knocking or just little knocking.
I hope you guy can help me
Got the link on video that have exactly same problem as I have.

That sounds pretty nasty. My first guess would be CV joints damaged or drive splines not fully engaged.
This weekend I'll try to take driveshafts out and have a lookAnd you think nothing to do with clutch or flywheel it self? Because flywheel wasn't changed only clutch-kit.
So little info as usual.
So presumably it does drive ? or you havent tried ?
Was the work carried out by a competent person ?
Does the clutch feel normal ?
Why on earth would you go in there and not change the flywheel ?
Is the sound only when you try and drive, or is it gear related, or other ?
Are all shafts engaged correctly into the box etc ?

It does drive but haven't tried go faster then 2nd gear because of the loud knocking! So presumably it does drive ? or you havent tried ?

The clutch feels normal like new clutch should.
The work has been done by a friends who has change hundreds of clutches and never had issues like that before. The reason why I didn't change the flywheel is the price of course because clutch-kit with flywheel on these goes over £500 tried to save some money. Besides didn't have any vibration or ratling on the flywheel before.
And the sound basically is as soon I try to move car from standstill, strangely the sound is not that loud on the reverse. when it in neutral and clutch released there is no sound, if I put it in 1st when the front wheel are up no sound at all only on load.
There is no vibration whatsoever
Looked on the driveshafts they does look like all the way in. If wouldn't be all they way in there should be oil leaking from seals? Right?
If you could drive the car around the yard in 1st gear, to get an idea if the noise is there all the time when the car is moving...vs when it is just actually taking up drive with the clutch maybe slipping a little might help pinpoint
But it does sound more likely shaft related, although it is pretty loud.
Are you sure the friction disc was installed the correct way round ? I've seen them before if installed wrong, it can basically hit the centre release bearing and cause lots of issues until it destroys the release bearing/slave cylinder

I suggest you stop asking the internet to diagnose it for you and take it to your friend, who evidently knows (or should know) enough to diagnose obvious problems like this.Gassing Station | Engines & Drivetrain | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
