Hi all wondering if anyone can please offer some advice recently brought a mitsubishi shogun sport 05 plate 2.5td
Driving down the motorway engine warning light comes on car cuts out tried starting again goes into limp mode aa came 2hrs later diagnostic tested no problems I drove 6 miles aa followed me checked again drive belt snapped (ok to drive on 1 he said) drive another 10 miles engine warning light comes on again car cuts out, turned engine off tried starting again limp mode like jumping and loads white smoke coming out aa comes again takes me home!
A friend (mechanic) comes up changes all the belts/fuel/air/oil filter
Drive the car next few days same happens again (only covering 10 miles or so)engine warning light/cuts out jumping (no smoke) kept trying to start it was in limp mode my friend comes out again it says booster sensor so ordered new sensor in between sensor coming I drove it to the shop same again engine light/jumping/limp mode diagnosis again ECU (if I'm correct in saying that which controls the engine?) We presumed sensor, sensor fitted yesterday drove out this morning again 10miles or so engine warning light!/cuts out go to start it it's in limp mode, I can leave it 30mins starts again like there's no problems but doesn't go far before the same issue again, when the engines left off for a while diagnosis brings up nothing as it starts like there's no problem however if I took it out same problems occur me keep breaking down! Can anyone please offer any advice??? My friend said when the engine gets hot why is it cutting out?

Please rewrite that in sentences and paragraphs. It is incomprehensible.

Can you get a fault reader that will work as the vehicle is being driven? Surprise there wouldn't be a residual code.
