GWS CAN ID messages

This is a very long shot but if there's anybody out there that can help with this it will be highly appreciated.
Using a F30 Gear Switch Selector (like this one https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/b~YAAOSwgNFbyoO9/s-... ) and it is completely isolated on a test bank, I have no CAN bus so is just my master unit and this device on the CAN bus, I can send and receive SOME CAN id messages just fine but I can't seem to find ANY information to turn on the lights for the different gears nor even the backlight, it is wired correctly and I'm sending the Terminal 15 12v line so the device thinks the car is up and running, I can get most of the switch presses but no light control whatsoever.
