Genuine scrapage deals?
Discussion
I visited a Hyundai dealer the other day and enquired about their Scrappage deals, and from memory they were offering £1800 off the list price of an i20.
However, depending on the model they were actually offering me a £1600 to £1900 discount off the list price if I didn't have a scrappage car to offer.
So the reality is the scrappage deal is a non existant deal as they are at best offering £200 more than the discount they offer anyway, and you may actually be worse off.
You would be better off forgetting about the scrappage and looking for a car through carwow.

Most of the scrappage offers are just to get people though the door; "ooh I can get £2000 for my old sHowever, depending on the model they were actually offering me a £1600 to £1900 discount off the list price if I didn't have a scrappage car to offer.

tter", however generally the actual non scrap deals are better. If Brexit goes badly and car sales go fall off a cliff the government might actually introduce a real scrappage scheme like the one they offered in 2009.
They can then make out it is for environmental reasons, to get rid of all those nasty old diesel cars. The same cars they introduced a scrappage scheme to help us buy ten years ago to get all those nasty old petrol cars off the road.
