Have been thinking about changing my coil packs on my Monaro VXR for something a bit beefier like some MSD ones...however is this a mod any of you have done and if so, what did you do and which ones did you choose?idea

I’m not an expert on the matter but I wouldn’t waste my money.

They look nice when you pop the bonnet but don’t offer any real advantage over standard.

I wouldn't waste my money if they offer nothing other than fancy looks as £500+ just to look good, I can do without

Even if they do offer some sort of performance gain, for £500 I'm sure you could find a better bhp/£ modification!

If you were chasing every last fraction of a bhp then MAYBE it'd help, but people make a lot of power without them, so yeah, paint the stock ones red, job done thumbup

Actually heard of the MSD causing issues.

Paint the OE ones red and keep them if you want a cooler look.

There is a reason so many engine swaps end up using OE LS coils with after market management.
