recovery from the worst stomach flu
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm unable to see a Dr as there are simply no appointments available at present, plus I feel I'm over the worst of it. The worst of it was horrendous, I made over 50 trips to the loo in 24 hours with extreme bowel movements, I will spare you the rest of it. I'm now 5 days out from this but my stomach feel so tender and is incredibly bubbly when I put any food down.
I've tried to keep it simple: Bananas, rice, chicken and brown bread and small portions too. I've taken a few re-hydration mixtures when things were so bad and that's it.
Is there anything else I can do to calm the stomach down and try and restore some order?
Thanks in advance

I bloody hate that - you go for a dump, feel much better, back to bed, then 30 seconds later get that "not again!" feeling.I'm unable to see a Dr as there are simply no appointments available at present, plus I feel I'm over the worst of it. And the numbness from sitting on the khazi for so long doesn't help. I was tempted to get one of those camping bogs, half fill it with water and bleach, and leave it beside the bed... if I could make it out of the house to the camping shop without sh
itting myself!Have a look at a low carb/keto diet to embrace right now.
Hear me out.
If you haven't been able to keep anything down for a while, your probably already getting into fat burning and the hard work is done!
Go back to carbs and all the weight will go straight back on with the added water.
Just a thought.
Hope you feel better soon and whatever happens, liquids and electrolytes.

Keto diet is turning out to be not the best thing for everyone, like all diets. I don't think there is a lot wrong with my diet apart from what happens at weekends. I grow my own veg in the summer too. Hear me out.

What we are talking about here is trying to restore body and mind back to normality quickly, particularly the gut!
