Whomping noise ( Mini R50)
Discussion
I've got a Mini R50 with 80k miles on the clock.
Lately I've started hearing a whomping noise coming from what seems like the left front wheel.

Thinking it might be the tire or the wheel bearing but idk :/
Suggestions?

Hard to make out which of the noises in those recordings is concerning you. If you're hearing regular noises at wheel rotation frequency that could indicate a damaged tyre or debris trapped in the tyre, which is obviously potentially dangerous and needs to be checked asap. Any garage or tyre fitting place could do that for you.
If the noise is more of a murmur/click and especially if it changes with steering inputs, that would suggest a possible wheel bearing problem. You'd need a mechanic to check that. It's less likely to kill you in the short term but obviously does need to be fixed.

Sorry the audio quality is kinda crap If the noise is more of a murmur/click and especially if it changes with steering inputs, that would suggest a possible wheel bearing problem. It sounds kinda like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0y1ahrIdl50/ but a lot quieter.

A good way to tell if its a wheel bearing is to listen as you go round corners as one side is loaded and the other unloaded.
I think it was quieter when I turned left but maybe it was just my imagination...I'll have a look again tomorrow. And check the tyre.
