Looking to get a phone mount for my Vantage, and was considering one that fits in the air vent.

Can anyone recommend one, they seem very cheap, but was concerned that it says in situ.

Alternatively does anyone prefer a different type.

Links would be good

Thanks

I used one of these and it did a good job, only frustration (and reason I stopped) is that I had to have the magnet part in the phone case which blocked wireless charging and I cared more about that.

same issue here - there is one company that makes a case with the metal plates curved around the wireless charging - and then the magnets on their holder are also curved...

case: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LQH79ZY
holder: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072Q1SGN7

more expensive - and a bigger holder - but works perfectly for a) wirelessly charging and b) on the holder - and the case is really lovely - very slim

Splash out all of 64p on this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Desuper-Universal-compati...

Bought 5 and of them for the cars + spares. Had these for years (was available from Halfords repackaged for £10) and is unobtrusive, doesn’t put too much pressure on air vent blades ... and works a treat.

Only caveat is that I have a smaller iPhone SE and not a cheese board-size device which may not fit this mount.

Thank you, that looks very neat. I have a iPhone 5s, so wireless charging does not apply to me. Just ordered one.

Get a Breffo Spiderpodium and pop it in the glovebox when not in use.

Get one for the boot - they are less intrusive, safer for all and give you a better drive time experience :-)

This looks nice and doesn't cover any functionality and close to the cigarette lighter. Perfect.

Could you please share which of the Proclip holder do you use? As far as I know there is no Proclip holder specific to Aston Martin, so I assume yours is for some other make/model but it fitted to Aston Martin anyway?

That post is 6 years old, and that PH'er hasn't posted for over two.

Just saying that you might not get an answer anytime soon - happy to be proved wrong

Welcome to PH, btw. If you have an Aston then pictures are mandatory (sort of) biggrin

I bought a magnetic vent one with wireless charging for my Vantage.

There are a lot of cheap ones about, key is to go for a well known and decent brand to buy a decent quality one. I also wanted one that charged to save having to keep plugging / unplugging from the phone itself.

https://amzn.eu/d/hURCnLi

It’s strong and secure and Its perfect position for using phone as satnav. As its also wireless charging and I can route the cable without it being in the way and without having to pin it or remove trim, obviously you can remove trim and it’d be much cleaner but still.

I’ll take a photo later to show you it fitted.

I have tried every cell phone mount available and ultimately rejected them for various reasons. My solution is not for everyone as it requires some fabrication. If interested see link below.

Well that is a brilliant piece of work Bernard.
However, after studying your 49 step photographs, I concluded that you have done really well, but that I will continue with my existing strategy, which is as follows;

1. - You are not going to disturb me, while I am enjoying driving my Aston Martin.
2. - If the call is important, they will ring again.

Works flawlessly. - smile

I use a Quadlock wireless charging vent mount, adapted with a home-made 'frame' so that I can still have side-to-side movement of the vent

I made the plate flat initially - worked fine, but there was no side-to-side movement possible

Happy to send the flat plate to anyone that wants it -
