I think I need a new stepper motor. I'm trying to find the best price - where did you guys get yours from and what did you pay?

Why do you think you need to replace this?

Put the problem on here and a cheaper alternative may arise?

I've seen £80 quoted on other threads. Have you tried just disconnecting it once the idle has settled, to see if the problems (whatever they are) go away?

Thanks for the advice lads. The problem is that a piece of plastic inside the assembly has bust. The valve shaft has two splines on it which I think engage in two "dogs" which form part of a moulding. The dogs and the splines are supposed to prevent the shaft from rotating, but allow it to slide in and out by the action of the motor turning some kind of nut. The problem is that the dogs have broken and you can turn the shaft freely, and even unscrew it. Although the stepper motor still works ok most of the time,I imagine that it's having trouble sometimes screwing the thing in and out without the shaft rotating, cos if the shafts rotating then the nut will not screw it in and out.
