Future Classic E39 M5 Touring. Sort of. Not
Discussion
I know there's been a few threads about Hexagon on here before, but all the ones I've seen have at least been reasonably rare M cars, so I was surprised to stumble on this.
An E39 540i, not super low mileage (as most of theirs usually are) with some M5 bits and a badge bolted on. Also one of Chris Bangle's greatest achievements apparently - maybe he stuck on he badges himself
Can't help but thinking if I put some M5 wheels on a 540i I'd be in the ///M Badges thread...

Increasingly BMW seem to be ;-)who puts M badges on cars that arent M cars

It is a nice car, but can’t help thinking I’d rather have a nice E39 M5 for that kind of money and live with the impracticality of a saloon.
but honestly is anyone friends with anyone who does this type of thing to their car ? i just don't know what goes through peoples minds
I always thought hexagon were some sort of joke "I saw you coming" type place. Stick enough tat at high markup and someone eventually might be stupid enough to pay the price. Or do they really shift cars at this price? Guess they must do.
And M badges on non M cars as said above BMW do it so why not everyone else? Don't see the issue myself. Pretty sure my f10 has M badges on it and I didn't put them there.. wheels, steering wheel, sills. Who cares? It's not like M cars are rare these days anyway

Their cars are always a rip off IMO
Laughable prices, so no idea how they sell
It looks a lovely motor, don't get me wrong. But £7/8k tops in real life. It's an old V8 in a car that's known to like to rust apart on your whilst you're sat in it!
If it were an M5 conversion; I could fully well see that price as not being far off, but it's not and they're simply taking the piss

PS. I'm no fan - looked at a hugely overpriced 88 911 there 6 years ago. Mismatched tyres, exhaust hanging by a thread and had recently been sprayed with undercoat including overspray onto the paintwork. Bought a better car for literally half the price. Nice showroom though!

This car was quite local to me for a number of years, but I never managed to leave a note on it asking the owner to give me a call if they ever sold.
Pretty sure it ended up being px'd and then appeared at a trader around £10k ish, then Hexagon got hold of it...
Always hexagon who have their hands on these low mileage examples, clean them up and then call them 'classics'. Most of the ones they have aren't even approaching 25 years old, still are somehow £40k+ for a M5. They even have an E60 M5 at around £40k too. Just annoys me slightly as its companies like these which will demand more and more money from these cars, I have plans to own an E39 M5 in a few years time, but by the looks of it that will become harder and harder to do.
Definitely over;riced, but I have been offered £25k - £30k by several serious buyers for my m5, so they are going up in value... the 4 litre is a lot of the M5 car for (usually!) a lot less money, and with the additional practicality of the estate, nice cars... but not at that price...
