Zafira 1.9cdti new turbo but won’t start

I’m a new member and this is my first post so please bare with me.

So I was driving along on the motorway and the turbo seals blew putting oil everywhere but I couldn’t pull over as there was no hard shoulder so coasted for just under 2 miles with the engine on just tick over. I have replaced the turbo and all necessary bits to fit it correctly but now it will not start. It turns over about 5/6 times and just stops. It will do this every time. I am very stumped by this and really need someone that may know the answer to this just to give me some advise. Any help given will be grateful appreciated. Thanks

Have you got/can you borrow a code reader to see if there is any indication of why?

Unfortunately I haven’t got one and can’t get hold of one

Try disconnecting the exhaust before the DPF filter. It wont be too noisy, so don't worry about that. OIf the turbo blew it's possible that your DPF is blocked and preventing start by choking the engine. Its an easy, five minute job.

Ok thanks I’ll give that a go. I was worried I may have bent a rod in the engine but hopefully that works
