Designated Survivor
just seen an advert for this when watching Columbo
utterly silly premise, looks hokey, and it had Kiefer Sutherland...but it has me intrigued.
The US government gets destroyed and the secretary for housing is the only one left. Like in BSG when the government goes and the minister for education is left. biggrin

Starts on the 6th March

It's been on Netflix for a while, I'm into season 2. It's pretty vanilla but easy watching. It's a sort of lightweight West Wing with Kiefer Sutherland trying to hold his inner Jack Bauer in. Although he does let out a lot of "dammit" and "sonofabh" s

I thought S1 was pretty good but ludicrous!

S2 still watchable with the ridiculous levels turned down a bit.

Watched the whole thing.

Rather beige and flaccid overall. Some of the ladies are nice to look at. Nonsensical story lines and bland cliffhangers.

Expect to spend a lot of time watching it while also being on your phone.

I agree and yet don't. If it was just a few episodes it would have been fine - but as prolonged drama it did get boring though.

And he talks just like Jack Bauer. Which is infuriating.

Watchable but unbelievable sums it up.

I binge watched it and was sad when I got to the end if I’m honest.

I really enjoyed series 1, it was a show that several of my friends also watched and was the subject of great discussion on our whatsapp group.

Completely unbelieavable but they do it well.

Series 2.. petered out and I gave up altogether after about 8 episodes.

I'm a few episodes into S1 and I like it. I don't understand how many of you complain about it being unrealistic/unbelievable. It's a fictional drama! Did you enjoy terminator, Rambo, Aliens, virtually any horror or sci-fi film etc and find them believable?!

I'm a fan. Like the characters and it doesn't take itself too seriously. Interesting to see Michael J Fox in a major role in series 2.

It started well but then just sort of drifted aimlessly as if they were searching for a strong storyline to drive the whole thing forward. We gave up part way through series 2' when we realised it was never gonna happen. Not missing it at all.

Agree, enjoyed it when 'the President and his struggles' was the main story.

S2 is basically 'a crisis per episode which ends in tea and medals, with a background thread of the long term story about catching the baddies'.

eg stopped being a series, became episodes with tenuous links to a theme from the series.
