Kumho Ecsta LE Sport KU39 tyres, any feedback?
Discussion
I am due to change the tyres on my car and even though it is running on cerb RL7s I am struggling to find matching tyre sizes.
I need a set of :
Fronts, 235/40/17s
Rear 255/40/17s
My choice is Uniroyal Rainsport 3s but these are not available in my sizes.
My preference is for a soft walled tyre that is good in the wet as well as the dry.
The Kumhos seem to fit the bill but I don't have any experience of them.
These tyres will only be used on the road as I have a track day set of wheels and tyres.
Any feedback or suggestions?

I’ve been running Kumho tyres on the rear (Ecsta SPT KU31 rather than KU39) for the past 3 years, Uniroyal Rainsport 3s on the front for the past two.
I still have original 15/16” wheels, so finding appropriate sizes is getting more and more difficult. I went with Kumho’s as they happened to be available at the time that I needed the rears replaced and the reviews seemed as good. I never got on with Toyo’s, I found the side walls too soft for the rear and they would squirm under hard acceleration. The Kumho’s have been great, excellent grip in the dry and good in the wet. I certainly had more confidence in them than the Toyo’s. The side walls are stiffer than the Toyo’s, but not overly so. Would be happy to go with them again if I can’t get Rainsport’s next time they need replacing.
