NMW and Holiday
Discussion
Employers must offer 28 days of paid annual leave. Public holidays can be deducted from this entitlement, therefore if your employer pays you for the eight public holidays, then they must offer you at least 20 discretionary days of leave.
National Minimum Wages does not impact this.
I am not aware that being on a probation period will affect the above, however different companies have different rules when it comes to accruing leave if you are a new joiner, so you will have to check your contract.

does anybody know the score here? must every UK employer provide paid holiday of at least 20 days plus statutory holidays even on national min wage jobs that are full time hours?
and does this apply also during a probationary period of say 3 or 6 months?
What does the Contract of Employment say about this?and does this apply also during a probationary period of say 3 or 6 months?
