This is a really weird and annoying problem; not really the car's problem.

I am driving an automatic BMW. When I have my foot on the accelerator, the foot touches the brake pad. The touching of of the foot (with trainers/shoes) with brake pad makes a squeeky noise which is really annoying.

Any recommendations or ideas on how to get around this.

I have a similar problem with shoe touching the internal wheel arch cover of my F30, causing a squeaking noise. My analysis is
a) it is only one set of shoes (well the right one of that pair, specifically)
b) my E36 had a synthetic velour cover, so no scraping (reduction in quality of wheel arch cover finish nowadays!)

Resolution - I just live with it.

What I don’t understand is how your shoe touches the brake pedal (are you pigeon-toed, rather than the usual splay-footed in a seating position?)

That will probably be your foot pushing the pad into the brake disc- a bit of anti squeal paste on the edge of the brake pad would help. But you may have other things to worry about if ur foot is reaching the back of the wheel hub whilst sitting in the car

OP means brake pedal pad, as well you know.

Not sure about other people but I tend to put my foot down and pivot to press accelerator and brake bad. Hence, my foot is anchored between the accelerator and the right edge of the brake pedal.
