Bought an M3 a little while ago that has crept up in price and a few watches, and always like the idea of investing money into items I can enjoy and get my money back plus more if possible, interested to hear how others have done the same?

Watches (specifically stainless steel sports Rolex)

Comics (specifically US Bronze Age Marvel first issues)

Raleigh Choppers (specifically mk 1s and 2s)

All beaten any similar sized cash investments of mine hands down! And great fun too!!

A few pieces of art that we got lucky on (out of about 30 in the house 3 have gone up in value significantly due to luck)

A vintage watch I was bought for a birthday - should have bought more of them at the time, but im not a watch trader, you dont think they will really go up 500% over 10 years etc otherwise you would buy all the ones you could find at the price smile

Racehorses?
We used to have someone at work who did well out of them and they seem to have become his retirement passion. Despite being blind!
I've no idea how you pick up the information to get started, though I expect there are syndicates, fractional ownership deals etc. I imagine you don't have to get your hands dirty if you don't want to, let alone ride the thing smile

4 watches and a 911 for me. All gone up slightly (best was one of the watches - paid £8.5k and a year later worth £20k).

The 911 probably the most fun but if I’m being realistic, all in its probably broke even or perhaps a very slight profit. Still, a free 911 for 4 years is better than a kick in the teeth.

Been toying with the idea of supercars - not really after an investment but if I can get something that breaks even I will be a very happy man. Thinking McLarens and Lambo and maybe the odd Ferrari or Porsche GT3. Not making a move this year though due to Brexit and trying to pay mortgage off first.
