Fed up of getting filthy hands before walking into the office trying to feed a grubby chain through the spokes on my AT. It is also annoying and bulky carrying a big chain in my top box

Is there a D-Lock out there that will fit in the rear wheel?

I had this thought earlier when I was putting my bike away and spotted that my pushbike D lock fits in my front wheel of my AT and has a lovely carry mount that goes perfectly on my crashbars! (designed for the seat post)

umm why not use that one then?

Are you saying you want a motorbike specific one? Do you want one that goes through both discs across the front wheel, or would you accept a d-lock that goes through just one disk? or must it go through the back? (do you intend to put your chain through the disc lock, I'm now thinking?)

By the way I use some cheap (rubber-dipped fingers) gloves from screw fix for locking up, they're only a couple of quid and quite hardy. Like builders wear.

Do they keep your hands cool?

I use a big kryptonite new York d-lock through my front wheel. It goes round the forks and through the wheel. Check the measurements.

•Product dimensions: 4” x 8” (10.2cm x 20.3cm)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kryptonite-York-Standard-...

Larger version here

•Product dimensions: 3.9” 10.3” (10.3cm x 26.1cm)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kryptonite-York-Lock-M18-...

I use mine in conjunction with a chain through frame.

Well., it is from BikeHut and not sure it would stand up to a strong kick.

I want a secure one that will go through the rear wheel, I am all about speed and convenience as my commute is 2 hours each way, i can clip a d lock to my crash bars so i can have it off and on without having to open my top box, take my bag out and put it on the floor next to my bike, pull the chain out and get my hands dirty. Putting another set of gloves on will just add another step sadly.

No, not insured as using a lock at all, it just looks cheap.
