Hi,
I'm looking into going from a petrol A3 to diesel golf. The golf has around 130k mileage, is there anything in particular that I should look out for or try and find out about?

TIA

It's low mileage compared to the company pool Golf Tdi I drive on 170,000 miles.

Nothing has gone wrong, apart from a broken exhaust.

If it’s a MK6 (2009-) it will have a DPF. Can cause trouble at that sort of mileage. Especially if you’re doing shorter journeys. It would also be a Dieselgate car, the software update they did to fix the emissions is known to cause issues with the emissions systems like EGRs and Injectors (I had the Injectors go on my Polo TDI)

Personally would steer clear of diesels if possible. Just my opinion the fuel price will only rise from now on! I’m currently swapping my company vans to petrol. Allso converting the transit connect sport to a cosworth I just love that van to much !! after the m3 compacts complete she’s next. luckily for me the wife doesn’t come to the unit much woohoo
