From the 1st of March Sky F1's price will drop from £18 to £10 per month for new and existing customers and it is to be guaranteed for two years , obviously they were not getting the customers they were expecting .

Still 120 quid a year. To the Murdochs, no thanks.

The Murdochs will see as much of the £120 as I will.

It's about a fiver a race in season and cancel it when season ends restart next season . Instead of it being sky F1 the channel should be sky Motorsport covering all types of races as well as F1 and then we would not have the content repeats that nobody wants to watch.

Thing is it isn't £10 a month though is it? They won't let you have the F1 channel and nothing else.

Agreed. They really could make better use of it though.

The Murdochs aren't involved in Sky anymore are they? It was sold to Comcast last year.

Am I right in saying you would only get Sky F1 in SD and to have it in HD you would need to pay extra still?
I don't have the HD package as all the channels I watch are free to view in HD anyway. So I would be watching Ch4 F1 Highlights package in HD.

there are some amazing deals at the moment from sky (relative to their advertised prices)

I currently have sky, sky sports (including F1) fibre broadband and phone for £51 a month fixed for 18 months

I just moved house and the sky lady said there must be a mistake on my account, then checked it and said "i've never seen so many discounts!"

all I had to do was tell them I was cancelling!

Yes you can have standalone sky sports channels now, have been able to since last summer iirc

All sports options are HD as standard now too.

Only if you are already a Sky subscriber.

You can't just have Sky F1 without having at least the Sky Entertainment package. If you want HD, it is £5.00 extra.

So if I ring up Sky and get them to put a dish in all I have to pay after the installation fee is £10 a month then? I don't think so.

Apologies, that's what I meant to say, Standalone sky sports channels as an add on to a base pack

Nope, having gone thru the ordering process, for a new (or returning subscriber), the monthly is £32 (for a minimum of 18 months - if you cancel F1 @ £10 at any time, the £22 / month for what's left rises to £27). Plus £20 set up.

If you want 4K, its another £10 / mth, and £199!!!!!!!!! set up.

As far as I can tell.

Same here. I was looking at changing the deal but then they said I would lose F1 so told them I'll be sticking with what I have until Sky lose the exclusive deal.
