I have recently changed my wheels from 14 inch to alloy 15 inch.

The tyres fitted are 185/60 R15. Does anyone know what pressure I should be using. The standard pressure for the vw polo is 28 psi, for 175/70 r14

Start at 28psi and take it from there, use your steering feel to tell you if all is well.

If you have an infrared thermometer life is simpler.

Look inside the fuel filler cap or on the door pillar, it should give the choices on there.

Pressures depend on the average loading of the vehicle as well as the tyre size. But I would GUESS around 34 front 31 rear if normally 1 or 2 passengers and no load.

A quick call to vw dealer, or a tyre specialist would confirm.

Usually you'd keep the tyre pressure about the same. The wider tyres affect the shape of the contact patch but you keep the same area.

I'd only want to change the pressure if the new tyres had significantly less sidewall, in which case they might need higher pressure.
